Performance Evaluation of Austempered Ductile Iron Camshaft Low Alloyed with Vanadium on an Electric Spin Rig Test

Arbomex S.A. de C. V. is one of the largest worldwide manufacturers ductile cast iron camshafts, produced by means phenolic urethane no-bake sand mold casting method and cold box stack molding technology. As a result development high-strength ADIs, low alloyed with vanadium, for camshaft manufacturing, previous results were published on as-cast process austempering heat treatments applied to camshafts. In present work, camshafts 0.2 0.3 wt.% V, at temperatures 265 305 °C. The performance new was evaluated wear testing ensure function durability block-on-ring test valve train system evaluate volume loss material removed geometrical changes camshaft, respectively.
